Sjøbjørn 25 MKIII (Seabear 25 MKIII) is a boarding/patrol and FRC (Fast rescue craft), developed in close cooperation with the Royal Norwegian Coastguard. The boat is built according to the latest Solas regulations, complying with the requirements for fast rescue craft.
The craft is designed and built to support the crew in operations in rough and icy waters. It has long-range capability. A center placed steering position, along with a total of 6 suspension seats for the crew, is fitted. There is a specially designed canopy for boarding operations.
The craft is fitted with the Henriksen IHS (integrated hook system). Both the lifting hook and the painter release hooks are remote operated from the cockpit. A towing hook is also fitted in the stern.
The craft has extra strengthening in the hull and fender systems, a heated deck, a cockpit, and an engine room. The large engine and waterjet give extra speed and manoeuvrability in rough weather and critical situations. Details are built with extra care for crew and the special requirements a Navy or Coast Guard might have.
The craft is type approved with a CE certificate acc. to nominated body: DNVGL.
